PURPOSE:To easily form a plurality of penetration holes provided in the central part of a guide plate in order to make the guide plate reduced in weight, and prevent a resin material filled in the penetration plate from dropping out of the guide plate. CONSTITUTION:After making a plurality of penetration holes 2 in the central part of a guide plate 1 for a chain saw, engaging parts 5 are formed by pressing and thus plasticity-deforming the circumferential parts of the penetration holes 2 and the penetration holes 2 are filled, and then cured, with a synthetic resin material 7, thereby positively securing the synthetic resin material 7 integrally with the guide plate 1.
