DISCRIMINATION METHOD OF LINE FIGURE IN PICTURE

PURPOSE: To discriminate a line graphic area in a picture by converting an OFF pixel adjacent to a text pixel into an ON pixel having at least a part connected to the adjacent text pixel so as to form the merged area of ON pixels. CONSTITUTION: A line graphic is removed by using a special reducing procedure and morpheme processing and on the other hand, the texture of a pixel in a text area is changed to convert the area to hold the text area according to the texture. Namely the OFF pixel adjacent to the text pixel is converted to the ON pixel so that at least a part of the ON pixel connects the adjacent text pixel so as to generate the integrate area of ON pixels. Finally it is merged within the separation mask articulate or almost articulate ON pixel, thereby discriminating and separating a text and a line graphic in a picture.
