ATOMIZING APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING WATER ATOMIZED IRON POWDER

PURPOSE:To prevent a molten steel continuous supply from being hindered and an atomizing efficiency from being lowered by rising of steam, etc., by forming water stream jet to the specific shape. CONSTITUTION:Two layers of reverse conical shaped water stream jet films are arranged on concentric circles so that each focus coincides with the others and one or more gap parts in each water stream jet film is formed and set so that each gap part in the films does not overlap as seeing from center of the circle. For example, an annular body-state nozzle header 6 has double annu lar body-state nozzles 8 and injects the water stream jets 1, 2 outside and inside and the reverse conical shaped water stream jet films are formed from the nozzles and these has the same focus 5. The films 2, 1 have gap parts 4, 3 in the jet 1 at two positions each paired mutually opposite side and both gap parts of the films shift the phase by 90 deg. angle. At the time of supplying molten steel 7 to this focus 5, as the produced steam is exhausted through each gap part, stable supply of the molten steel is not obstructed and the molten steel is not leaked from the jet and the atomizing efficiency is not lowered.
