DENTAL LINING MATERIAL, METHOD FOR LINING DENTURE BASE AND DENTURE BASE

PURPOSE:To produce a dental lining material composed of a solid polymeric substance obtained by dissolving an amorphous low-molecular weight fluorine-containing polymer in an acrylic monomer, increasing the molecular weight thereof or further converting the polymer into an interpenetrating polymer network(IPN) structure, bring the resultant solution into pressure contact with a denture base and polymerize the prepared impression material. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous fluorine-containing polymer (e.g. vinylidene fluoride/ hexafluoropropylene-based polymer) having 20000-80000 weight-average molecular weight is dissolved in an acrylic monomer and polymerized in the presence of light, heat, a polymerization initiator, etc., or further crosslinked to produce a dental lining material composed of a solid polymeric substance. In the process, an adhesive is applied to a mucosal surface of a denture base and the aforementioned lining material, etc., are brought into pressure contact to remove excess parts. The obtained denture base is then inserted into the oral cavity to perform impression. The prepared impression material is taken out, photopolymerized, polymerized at ambient temperature or thermally polymerized to produce the objective denture base. The aforementioned lining material is excellent in water and fouling resistances, chemical stability and durability without irritation or thermogenesis in the oral cavity.
