PURPOSE:To prevent jack-knife phenomenon of a cargo trailer in a multi-storied warehouse by forming an endless chain conveyor with hooks to be engaged with a cargo trailer and an inclined passage provided with a braking device at the end of each floor from the second floor and above from the ground. CONSTITUTION:When a chain conveyor 4 is reversed at the lower end of an inclined passage 3, since the speed of a cargo trailer 17 is higher than the chain conveyor 4, hooks 6 of the chain conveyer 4 are inclined forward once, where leads 11, etc., pass. When they pass, the hooks are engaged with the rear part of a startup lead 11 to prevent retreat. The conveyor ascends in cooperation with the drive force of the trailer 17. When descending, the hooks 6 are engaged with the front end of the lead 11, the conveyor 4 is reversed to descend, and a braking device 8 is actuated for braking when load is rapidly reduced. By this constitution, jack-knife phenomenon of a cargo trailer can be prevented.
