LOW-TEMPERATURE DISTILLATION TOWER HAVING COLD RESERVING LAYER

PURPOSE:To minimize radiation by covering a vacuum heat insulating jacket with a cold reserving pipe and cooling the outer wall of the jacket with a refrigerant. CONSTITUTION:A liq.-nitrogen condenser 16 for liquefying the vaporized methane is connected to a condenser 15. The cold gaseous nitrogen vaporized in the condenser 16 is introduced into a cold reserving jacket 13. An atomizer 19 is provided in the jacket 13, and liq. nitrogen is supplied into the jacket 13 through the atomizer 19 and a valve 18. A temp. indicating controller 17 and the valve 18 are interlocked to spray a requiste amt. of liq. nitrogen into the jacket 13, and the temp. in the jacket 13 is kept at a definite value. The liq. nitrogen monoxide flowing down in a distillation tower 11 is not vaporized, the flow is stabilized, and isotopes are separated as required.
