PURPOSE: To display the position of a copy cutter by arranging a plurality of detection members where an operation part and a non-operation part that are patterned by a gray code table are provided at a rotary part and combining detectors being arranged opposite to the detection members. CONSTITUTION: Four detection plates 21-24 are fixed to a cutter shaft, and detectors 25-28 such as a limit switch are arranged opposite to the plate 21 and the like. The periphery is divided into 24 , namely 16 equal portions, and recessed non-operation parts and projecting operation parts being patterned by a gray code table are formed at each divided portion in the plate 21 and the like. Then, lamps for detecting a copy cutter that are divided into 16 equal portions for display and are provided on an operator's panel are connected by combination of the operation and non-operation of the detectors 25-28 and are successively lit along with the rotation of a cutter head, thus displaying the position of the copy cutter simultaneously with the turn-on of a power supply.
