摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce a machining cost and enhance a machining efficiency by using a thin blade tip which makes the contact area with a work smaller and maintains the smaller resistance to the cutting when the cutting of the work consisting of a ceramics green body is made. CONSTITUTION:A ceramics green body G as a work is held by a chuck 1 mounted to the main shaft of a lathe body, and a thin blade tip 3 made of carbide alloy is mounted to a holder 4 of a cutter box 2 by means of a clamp 5 and a clamp bolt 6 to make the cutting while the ceramics green body G is being rotated. By using the thin blade tip whose relief face wear does not exceed a predetermined level to cut the ceramics green body without increasing resistance to the cutting, the cutting rate in the setting at the first time can be greatly increased, and the consumption of carbide alloy tool materials to be used for tips can be markedly minimized, thereby greatly reducing the cost of tools.
