PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition with high retainability of the anti- rodent agent contained even immersed in water and its activity persistent for a long period of time, to be used as a sheathing material for electric cables, by incorporating a vinyl chloride-based resin with a micro-encapsulated anti- rodent agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride-based resin with (B) 30-45 pts.wt. of dioctyl phthalate, (C) 4 pts.wt. of tribasic lead sulfate, (D) 1 pt.wt. of barium stearate, (E) 0-30 pts.wt. of calcium carbonate, (F) 1-10 pts.wt. of micro-encapsulated cycloheximide, and (G) 1-10 pts.wt. of hydrophobic silica. In an electric cable with the present composition used as the sheathing material, the sheath surface is coated with a vinyl chloride-based composition prepared by incorporating a vinyl chloride-based resin with an adipic acid based polyester plasticizer and, if needed, epoxidized soybean oil and/or a barium salt-based stabilizer.
