PRODUCTION OF ANTICORROSIVE COATING AND STEEL PIPE COLUMN SUBJECTED TO ANTICORROSIVE TREATMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject coating, excellent in adhesion, weather and corrosion resistances and useful as masts for communication, etc., by containing a urethane prepolymer having terminal isocyanate groups as a principal agent and a hydroxyl group-containing compound, a petroleum resin and a curing agent containing a metallic oxide. CONSTITUTION:The objective coating containing a urethane prepolymer, prepared by reacting a polyol such as polyester polyol with a diisocyanate such as diphenylmethane diisocyanate and having terminal isocyanate groups as a principal agent, a hydroxyl group-containing compound (e.g. water or a lower alcohol), an aliphatic or an alicyclic petroleum resin and a curing agent (e.g. triethyleneamine) containing a metallic oxide (e.g. an oxide of Ca or Mg). Furthermore, steel pipe columns excellent in anticorrosive properties, etc., are obtained by using the aforementioned coating.
