摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition free from the deterioration in transparency and UV ray absorption by depositing zirconium oxide hydrate and aluminum oxide hydrate on the surfaces of rutile type titanium dioxide fine particles, subsequently calcining and oxidizing the particles. CONSTITUTION:Rutile type titanium dioxide fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.001-0.07mum are dispersed in water, mixed with a water-soluble zirconium salt and a water-soluble aluminum salt and neutralized to deposit zirconium oxide hydrate in an amount of 0.5-8.0wt.% converted into ZrO2 and aluminum oxide hydrate in an amount of 1.0-40.0wt.% converted into Al2O3 on the surfaces of the titanium dioxide fine particles. The titanium dioxide particles are calcined at 300-750 deg.C for 1-12hr to oxidize the zirconium and aluminum oxide hydrates deposited on the surfaces of the particles for providing the objective composition.
