MANUFACTURE OF SODA-LIME-SILICA RED COPPER COLLOIDAL GLASSWARE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain economically a soda lime silica red copper colloidal glassware of a vivid tone by incorporating copper oxide and carbon into a soda lime silica glass material in a specified ratio, melting, molding, and heat-treating. CONSTITUTION:0.05-0.3pts.wt. copper oxide (as CuO) as a colorant and 0.1- 1.5pts.wt. carbon (C) as a reducing agent, where the molar ratio of Cu to C is regulated to 1:2, are added to a glass material consisting of 100pts.wt. silica sand, 25-45pts.wt. soda ash, 12-30pts.wt. lime stone, and 0-3pts.wt. aluminum hydroxide, and 0.05-0.5pts.wt. tin oxide is incorporated, if necessary, as a coloring assistant. Then a batch of the obtained material having =-100 acid number is melted, molded, and heat-treated to obtain the desired soda lime silica red copper colloidal glassware suitably used for tableware glass, etc.
