METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR JUDGING ACID-BASE EQUILIBRIUM IN LIVING BODY

PURPOSE:To accurately perform the judgement due to a new index by measuring the concns. of Na+, K+, Cl- and HCO3- in the same plasma to calculate Anion deficit and judging the acid-base equilibrium in a living body. CONSTITUTION:A measuring part for measuring Na+, K+, Cl- and HCO3- in plasma, a calculation part for calculating Anion deficit from the measured values thereof according a formula, a comparing part for comparing the calculated value with the standard value of the acid-base equilibrium of a living body and a judging part for judging the abnormality of the acid-base equilibrium from the numerical value of the comparing part are provided. Then, the acid- base equilibrium is judged to be normal when the Anion deficit value is 10 - 18mmol/l. plasma and HCO3- is 20 - 28mmol/l. plasma but judged to be abnormal when these values are out of the set ranges. By this method, accurate judgement can be carried out.
