MICROSCOPIC APPLIANCE FOR OBTAINING AND KEEPING TRACK OF A THIN LIQUID FILMS

The appliance is used for investigating the physical chemistry of the surface phenomena and disperse systems, while ensuring independence from the distance between the microscope table and the viewing objective and enabling the use of microscopes operating in reflected, as well as in transmitted light. It ensures quick thermostating over a wide temperature range. The appliance consists of a metal housing with a thermostatic body (5) fitted in it, two nipples (6), a socket for the control thermometer (9) and a socket with a glass chamber (4) housing a small cylinder (1) (supporting the thin liquid film) with an end piece cap. The cylinder (1) is connected to a pump for manual dosing installed next to the thermostatic body within the housing. The U-shaped channel (7) in the thermostatic body encircles both sockets.
