The process is intended for verifying the measurement in logging with a logging machine, wherein timber is produced with the logging machine 1 in repeated work stages, which timber is measured with measuring members 2, and wherein the measurement findings of the measuring members 2 are verified with control members. According to the invention, the control members 3 are arranged integrated in the logging machine 1, the said control members being used for repeated verification of the correct functioning of the measuring members 2 in connection with the production of the timber 4 with the logging machine 1. The measurement findings of the measuring members 2 are herein compared to the control value of the control members 3 which is determined in advance, at certain intervals, with control measurements carried out with the measuring members 2. The process can be applied in an especially advantageous manner in connection with the use of a harvester 1, by means of which timber is produced and is measured integrated with treatment members 5 and measuring members 2 belonging to the harvester 1, according to the invention the measuring members 2 and the control members 3 being arranged to work in connection with the corresponding treatment members 5 and the said control value of the control members 3 being determined on the basis of the repeated working of the corresponding treatment members 5.
