The invention relates to a device, comprising a drive cylinder 3, for opening the rear end hatch 2 of a loading platform 1. For the device to be reliable and to be favourable in terms of its production and for it to allow the rear end hatch of the loading platform to be lifted high above the side platform of the loading platform, the device comprises a telescopic member 6 which is fixed in the rear end hatch and which, by means of a hinge 8, is hinge-connected to the loading platform 1 at a distance from the rear end hatch such that the distance of the rear end hatch from the hinge 8 is adjustable, that the said drive cylinder 3, at its first end, is hinge- connected by means of a hinge 9 to the loading platform and, at its second end, is hinge-connected by means of a hinge 10 to the telescopic member 6 at a distance from the hinge 8, that the device further comprises a transmission arm 7, which, at its one end, is hinge- connected by means of a hinge 11 to the loading platform and, at its other end, is hinge-connected by means of a hinge 12 to the telescopic member at a point which is situated between the rear end hatch and the hinge 8 and which is displaced with respect to the hinge 8 and lengthens and shortens the length of the telescopic member according to the motion of the drive cylinder 3.
