The floor supports a layer of growth material to be prepared, and contains passages for air from a ventilation conduit underneath. It contains rectangular transverse passages, enclosed between beams running in the lengthwise direction of the floor, and transverse ones between them. The top surfaces of the transverse beams are lower than those of the lengthwise ones.
