The invention relates to a method for making a corrosion-resistant protective coat on screw connection threads of oil-well pipes used for the production of oil or gas, wherein a corrosion-inhibiting lubricant is applied at the works before a thread protection is screwed onto the previously cleaned thread regions. To provide a method for making a corrosion-resistant protective coat on screw connection threads for oil-well pipes, wherein removal of the protective coating agent and the disposal thereof before screwing-together in the field are no longer necessary, it is proposed to apply to the thread regions a highly viscous, but transparent oil which allows a visual check of the thread regions and is miscible with the screwing greases used on the derrick during the later screwing together.
