Hybrid cell line secreting a monoclonal antibody specific for the human histocompatibility antigens HLA-A30 and HLA- A31

The invention relates to a hybrid cell line 1 (hybridoma) produced by the fusion 2 of cells of the mouse myeloma line NS-1 3 with the B lymphocytes of the spleen 4 of a mouse of the strain BALB/c, which has been immunized with two human lymphoblastoid B lines of known HLA phenotype 5. This hybrid cell line secretes a monoclonal antibody specific for the human histocompatibility antigens HLA- A30 and HLA-A31 6, which in the presence of complement has cytotoxic activity against the cells that express those antigens on their surface. This monoclonal antibody constitutes a valuable reagent in the typing of human histocompatibility antigens.
