The invention relates to a supporting jaw for the mechanized support section, designed for supporting a gallery roof and entrance. This jaw consists of a plate to which are welded two guiding parts, inside which two bars slide with the help of a reinforcement triangle, mounted through a fork articulation to a hydraulic cylinder rod; through a support, this is mounted on the inside part of the mechanized support section shield. The two sliding bars have sharp front ends that stick into the coal.
