摘要

During a period forming 60-80% of total treatment time in an electrostatic cleaner for gas contg. dust and pollutants, waste gas first travels through the multiple passages between collector plate electrodes, operated dry. A subsequent set of collector electrodes have their surfaces wetted by an alkaline aq. soln., pH 7-9 sprayed onto the upper electrode surfaces. Washing liq. reaching the electrode feet is laterally extd. while any substantially dry dust collecting in the second unit is removed by a worm conveyor. All electrodes are subjected to polsating charges, and space round second unit electrodes is filter with hot gas. ADVANTAGE - Largely separate treatment of dust and chemical pollutants minimises sludge formation.
