The throttle passages (17) are controlled by a control circuit (4-8) which generates electrical signals (i3), and a unit which determines the medium throughflow in the throttle passages works with altering the electricity generation, e.g. altering field strength generation, dependent upon the electrical signals (i3). Alteration in the electricity generation rapidly affects the viscosity of the medium, and/or with electro-hydraulic control regulation where the unit is of the servo type. A cylinder (12) is incorporated, the pistion (11) of which is connected to the weapon recoil system, and the throttle passages are arranged between the cylinder spaces (15) on either side of the piston, e.g. in the piston. The control circuit (4-8) has the form of a regulating circuit incorporating an amplifier (6) controlling the unit by means of a theoretical value. The regulating circuit also incorporates outer and inner back couplings (7, 8) which send back signals (i1, i2) from an indicator monitoring a first parameter in the piston connecting rod, e.g. movement, position, acceleration, etc., and a second parameter from the medium thorugh the throttle passages (17), e.g. pressure, to coupling points (4, 5) in the circuit. The unit is arranged to effect controls (i3) with a frequency of 300 Hz or more.
