The measurement capillary with its fitted casing is placed into engagement with a reaction vessel filled with the fluid medium which is required to be fed on a controlled basis. The casing is pressed together along its length, whereby the measurement capillary immerses beneath the surface of the fluid medium in the reaction vessel. A known amt. of fluid medium is sucked upwards into the capillary by capillary force, and the whole controlled feed device is taken out of the reaction vessel and placed into engagement with another such vessel into which the fluid medium is fed by means of a centrifugal process. The casing lowermost end or base is open and collared, which is brought over a tube fitted in the reaction vessel cover against which it locates.
