THE INVENTION REFERS TO A PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF HOMOGENEOUS COPOLYAMIDES FROM HEXAMETHENEDIAMINE, OF ADDITIVE ACID TAKEN ONLY OR IN MIXTURE WITH AT LEAST OTHER SHORT CHAIN CARBOXYLIC DIACIDE. PURSUANT TO THIS PROCEDURE, A PRE-FIRST STAGE IS PREPARED FROM THE SHORT DIACID (S) AND EXCESS HEXAMETHYLENE DIAMINE IN THE PRESENCE OF A STRONG ORGANIC OR MINERAL OXIACIDE, IN AN ALKALINE SALT OR ALKALINE EARTH DERIVED FROM THAT ACID; THEN, IN A SECOND STAGE, THE PRE-PRIMER OBTAINED WITH THE DIMER OF FATTY ACID IS REACTED. THIS COPOLYAMIDES HAVE VARIOUS APPLICATIONS IN THE PLASTIC OR TEXTILE MATERIALS INDUSTRIES.
