The automatic vending machine, esp. for outputting soft drinks containers, is of generally cylindrical form like a soft drinks container. It contains a series of compartments in which products are arranged on platforms independently connected to a drive axle. A fixed platformm has a spiral path (5) on its underside guiding the cans to an output door (20) and with a rotatable output element (16) at the end of the path. A microprocessor determines the position of the output element which has an L-shaped end and a claw for blocking the door on the other end.
