ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:An automatic primary color, component convergencealignment system for a color television display apparatusis presented whereby sections of an alignment pattern areperiodically displayed in peripheral regions of thetelevision screen, in each of the primary colors duringrespective successive correction intervals, the pattermpositioned such as to fall upon photo-sensitive devicesdisposed at the screen periphery. Adjustment of patternposition is executed during each correction interval,based on position data derived from output signals fromthe photo-sensitive devices, such as to align the alignmentpattern with predetermined reference positions. Duringeach period between these sets of correction intervals,the position data thus derived are held stored and arecontinuously utilized for controlling the deflection ofrespective electron beams used in generating the primarycolors, to thereby implement automatic convergence alignmentadjustment.
