ABSTRACTProcess for the production of guanidine nitrate fromurea and ammonium nitrateThe present invention provides a process for theproduction of guanidine nitrate by the reaction ofurea and excess ammonium nitrate in the presence of asilicon dioxide catalyst at an elevated temperature,wherein the molten reaction mixture containing thedispersed catalyst is passed in a cycle, a branchcurrent of the reaction mixture is continuouslyseparated off by filtration in such a manner that thecatalyst remains in circulation and consumed urea andammonium nitrate are supplemented corresponding to theremoval of the product.
