CM-00216HSIGNAL SELECTION BY MAJORITY COMPARISONAbstractA signal selection system is disclosed wherein aplurality of received digital signals are combined toform a majority signal. Each of the received digitalsignals is compared to the majority signal to estimatethe bit-error-rate (BER) of each received signal. If thedifference between the highest and lowest BER is lessthan a predetermined threshold, the majority signal isselected for reception. Conversely, if the BERdifference is greater than the predetermined threshold,the received digital signal with the lowest BER isselected for reception. Thus, the signal with the lowestBER is selected to provide the best possiblecommunications.
