Abstract of the disclosureThe invention relates to a multiply wood product.The supply of wood suited e.g. for the production of ply-wood has considerably decreased. Consequently, attemptshave been made to compensate the deterioration in thequality of the surface finish and in other wood qualitiese.g. by means of various coating methods, with varyingsuccess. The most important problem has been the insuffi-cient adhesion between the coating and the wood. For theelimination of these problems, a multiply wood producthas been developed in which at least one layer is formedby a crude fibre ply blank comprising haphazardly orientedfibre material as well as bonding agents, additives andfiller materials. A single hot-pressing step in connectionwith the production of the multiply wood product formsthis blank into homogeneous ply (14) which, by virtue ofthe partial splitting of the fibre structure and the re-sulting reorientation, which take place during the hot-pressing, fills the irregularities in the surface of anadjacent wood layer (1) and forms a tight synthetic plyof accurate dimensions.
