29ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA method for the detection of the presence of anti-viral or anti-bacterial antibodies in a specimen and akit for the same. The method comprises the use of asolid phase support dipstick having attached theretosuitable antigen-binding material to which viralantigens or bacterial antigens are bound. Theantibodies specific for the bound antigens bind to theantigen and a second-antibody labelled with a means forvisually detecting those antibodies which have formedimmunocomplexes with the bound antigen when in thepresence of suitable reactive agents. Also, a method ofusing such a dipstick in this methoda and in the testkit is disclosed.
