process for the introduction of a percage rod in the taphole of a shaft furnace.percage machine and bi-directional clamp is a method of introducing a drill stem in a semi hardened plugging mass which was sealed with a tap hole of a furnace.tank. this method is implemented using a drilling machine with a carriage (26) is supported on the wall of the furnace (20).a clamp (46) mounted on the carriage (26) can be moved longitudinally on it under the action of a hydraulic cylinder (42) mounted at the front of the carriage (20).after donning the stem (22) through the bolt (46).moving the actuator (42) and the clamp (46) for moving the stem with the clamp (46) of a length corresponding to the stroke of the actuator (42).then open the bolt (46) and bringing it back to the starting position. we repeat this until the rod (22) is inserted to the desired length of the tap hole.we also propose a machine for implementing the method, as well as various types of pliers to grip the stem as well as in the introduction, during the extraction of the latter.
