The present invention relates to a lady's shoe in which the sole consists only of a toe section (for the toes and ball of the foot) and a heel section. The central part found in shoes with conventional soles is missing so that the foot is free and unsupported between the ball and the heel. The connection between the toe section (standing surface) and the heel section (which has a heel of varying height) is provided by two straps running along the sides of the instep. The straps are to be designed or located in relation to the foot so that they do not restrict the freedom of movement needed for walking.
