Method and reagent to determine the bacteriological and cytological quality of raw milk

The present invention relates to a method and agent for determining microbial and somatic cells side by side in a raw milk sample. The method is characterised in that the interfering milk components are dissolved by means of a complexing agent and of a surfactant and then the microbial and somatic cells present in the raw milk sample undergo fluorescence optical quantification after staining.
