The method consists in particular in compensating for defects in linearity of the two-port (10) with the aid of correction means (12) mounted in series in the main circuit of the two-port (10), the said correction means (12) being controlled by a digital control circuit (13, 14, 15) ensuring, on the one hand, the digital sampling of the output signal (Y) from the two-port (10) before correction, and on the other hand, the generating of a corresponding sample (Cn) for controlling the correction means (12). An advantageous application of the invention consists in operating it in cooperation with an earlier or periodic method of digitising the transfer function of the two-port. IMAGE
