The method and device allow including the spectral analysis of signals provided by the medical Doppler velocimeters. Is modeled successive slices of the sampled signal by a autoregressive process high order, close or equal to the maximum allowed by the duration of slots and the sampling frequency, by estimating parameters characterizing the model by rapid Kalman filter using an algorithm which is simplified to the maximum extent allowed by local stationarity of the pattern in the wafer and determining the power spectral density g (f) from the estimated parameters.
