The present invention relates to an insecticidal agent characterised in that it comprises at least one active principle which can be found in Spiroplasma taiwanense. The invention also relates to a process for obtaining a hypervirulent spiroplasma strain, and to an insecticidal composition which allows mosquito larvae to be contaminated with insecticidal agent.
