The radio receiver is esp. for a short-wave receiver and has station indicated unambiguously and automatically. Tunning data for numerous stations and their frequencies is retained in memories. A control circuit tunes two receive circuits to two different stations. All possible combinations are set one after another. A comparator compares the modulation signals of received stations. These frequencies in the memories for a station agreeing with the modulation signals are marked. the control circuit periodically repeats the setting of the pair of frequencies. The time of the start and of the end of agreement between the frequencies is stored in an extra storage area.
