A floor-covering or wall-covering tile is described which consists of a rigid backing body (3) and a covering body (1) of elastic material fastened to the top side (22) of the backing body (3). The covering body (1) has a cover plate (2) covering the backing body (3), spacers (6) lying on the backing body (3) and having hollow spaces (21) arranged in between, and undercut anchor bodies (5) which are made in one piece with the spacers (6), project into recesses (4) of the backing body (3) and are secured therein by means of a hardening binding agent which virtually fills the recesses (4). To improve such a tile to the effect that mass production can be simplified and rationalised with simple means, provision is made according to the invention for the undercut anchor bodies (5) to have a covering extension (8) at the level of the free ends of the spacers (6). The surface of the covering extension (8) running parallel to the top side (22) of the backing body (3) is at least the same size as the top opening (25) at the recess (4) of the backing body (3).
