The transport container has an outer base (B1) and cooperating cover (H1) and an inner base (B2) and cooperating cover (H2). The outer base (B1) and cover (H1) are secured together via closure levers (V), with a seal (D) clamped between them to provide an air-tight seal. The semiconductor discs are supported by an interchangeable holder (H) fixed to the inner cover (H2) via a hinge flap. Pref. the inner base (B2) incorporates a filter for clean air circulation within the container.
