The mounting uses a collector for sorting the conductors. The crimped conductors are fed stepwise at a preset spacing transversely to their longitudinal extension, and are accepted by a collector in a different sequence and spacing. The collector is swivelled through 90 deg. about its transverse axis. Then each individual conductor is discharged by a transport mechanism at the same discharge point. From the collector each conductor is transported stepwise to the discharge point, while the transport mechanism conveys the discharge conductor to a mounting point to which each housing chamber to be fitted is also conveyed. Pref. two collectors are used in alternating mode.
