Tamper proof security lock for personal computer disc drives - uses modified diskette locking assembly to guarantee system integrity

The security diskette (5) has a lock activating plate (6) situated inside the flexible walled centre section (8) which locates in the retracted disc drive head aperture when inserted into a disc drive assembly. Moving the lock assembly (7) to the locked position turns the lock activating plate (6) via its connecting spindle (9) through 90 degrees. The security diskette (5) centre section walls (8) take up a domed profile precluding withdrawal of the security diskette (5) from the drive assembly. ADVANTAGE - Security diskette remains in disc drive even if lock assemble is damaged or broken off.
