The fibre-reinforced, watertight plastic foil strip (10) bridges over the expansion joint (2), and forms a loop (9), and its two edges overlap an edge of one of the two reinforcement strips (4,5) to which they are firmly connected. The edges extend to the strip area which covers the outer edges and corners of the expansion joint. At least one of the two reinforcement strips (4,5) has a sharp bend (12) running in the strip longitudinal direction. The sealing strip has a fibreglass track (6,7) running parallel to its longitudinal direction and also crossways to it, and which is bound by synthetic resin or similar. The sharp bend (12) has a local weakened section produced by sepn. of a part of the fibreglass extending transversally to the strip longitudinal direction. USE - To seal expansion joints in building structures.
