The apparatus frame (1) consists of a chin rest (3) and an optical sighting system (12) which is attached to a carriage assembly (4) and is adjustable in the X and Y axes by two appropriately positioned controls (8,9). A marking plate (10) is fitted in retaining slots (19) at the front of the apparatus frame (1), and as the optical sighting system (12) is adjusted to establish pupil (23) position w.r.t. frame attitude (24.25.28.29) the relevant points are recorded on the marking plate (10) by a marker pen assembly (11.17.18). The apparatus can be adapted to electronically record pupil position w.r.t. frame attictude by fitting a computer controlled memory and recording system (31.32.33). USE/ADVANTAGE - Accurate and simple apparatus for determining pupil position w.r.t. frame attitude - eliminates parallax errors and manual measurement inaccuracies - simplifies choice of glass blanks for specific frame selection.
