The method is used to test HF units having an a-d converter (1) and a digital processing part (2-4). The digital test signals, of suitable word widths, are fed to the interfaces (7,8,11) of the digital processing part of the HF unit. Digital test signals are produced which reproduce the functional connection between any two physical variables. Signals occur with a comparable functional connection between these physical variables at the HF unit to be tested in a practical operation. The test signal generator used is provided with a computer and a RAM. USE - Applying test program matched to appts. under test.
