Spooled magnetic tapes are packaged together to minimise the requirement for packaging materials. Existing packaging designs have problems of cost, bulk, or additional packaging requirement for transport. Several designs are proposed, all including an outer cover (preferably cardboard) and a plastic securing spindle (5) which holds the spool of tape in place. The spindle is fixed into holes in the covering by means of a flange and/or ring clips.The cover structure is fastened together by tabs, using glue, slots or plastic fasteners. The corners of the package are cut off to facilitate the addition of foil wrapping. ADVANTAGE - Reusable or recyclable packaging.
