Ground vibrations damping system - involves burying concrete mass in ground under object to be protected

The damping system is designed to reduce vibrations transmitted through the ground to objects (15) placed on or set into the ground (4). A damping mass is placed (5c) in the ground under the object. It is placed at a suitable depth (h3), and it is the property of the designed size and position of the mass to reduce vibrations. The mass is made of a suitably stiff material, such as concrete. The length of the buried mass conforms to that of the object being protected. USE - The vibration damping system is suitable for insulation of machinery from external vibrations, in foundation design for buildings in earthquake areas.
