Therapeutic compsn. consists of or contains (a) a pPTH (parathormone), bPTH or hPTH modification in which 1-29 amino acids are deleted from the N-terminal end and 1-50 amino acids can be deleted from the C-terminal end (as in e.g. hPTH (28-48)); and (b) at lease one biologically active vitamin-D-metabolite (e.g. 1,25 or 24,25-dihydroxy vitamin D3). Alternatively, (a) is a pPTH, bPTH or hPTH modification in which the N-terminal end is increased by 1-1000 amino acids and 1-50 amino acids can be deleted from the C-terminal end (as in e.g. Pro-(-1-)-hPTH (1-84) or Cro-beta-galacto-sidase-hPTH fusion proteins -see DE37225320 or (a) is a variant of pPTH, bPTH or hPTH (1-84) as described in DE39056060. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mixt. is synergistic and aids bone remodelling without affecting the calcium balance. The mixt. can thus be used in the treatment of osteoporosis.
