The keyboard facility for use with a processor has a number of input keys (E) that relate to different functions. An LCD display is used to indicate the function of the entries. A pair of menu selector keys (M) allows the various commands to be displayed. Operation of the menu keys does not result in an activation. Each operation of the keys can be assoicated with a confirmation generated by the user operating a separate key (R). The user can in this way identify the operations without mistakes being transmitted. ADVANTAGE - Allows user to operate keyboard without prior knowledge.
