The visco coupling (1) has a coupling housing (2) with at least one coaxial coupling-hub (9) between which is an annular space containing radially partly overlapping and alternately positioned outer (15a) and inner (16) discs. The discs (15a,16) are divided by slits (19) into segments (18) with radially rounded edges to the slits. The radially outer or inner peripheral edges (17a,17b) of at least one part of the peripherally distributed segments (18a,18b) of the non-rounded outer (15a,15b) or inner discs are bent outwards from the radial plane (RE). USE/ADVANTAGE - The visco coupling is designed so that when a set filling-level is reached or a set differential rotational speed, direct frictional contact is adjusted between the inner and outer discs.
