Method of providing exercises in handwriting - by first writing letters in brightly coloured ink and then going over them in lighter coloured ink

A good legible style of handwriting is achieved in the following way. Letters of the alphabet, both capitals and small letters, are written in a bright colour on a sheet of writing paper. The pupil then goes over the letters with a pen which forms the letters in a lighter colour, so that discrepancies between the original letters and the letters formed by the pupil are easily seen. This method of handwriting exercise is applicable to the styles of writing in use in Germany and in countries outside Germany.
